Web Tech Trends in San Sebastian Canlubang

As I end my February month 2011, I was fortunate to be invited as one of the guest speakers about Web Tech Trends at San Sebastian College – Canlubang Laguna.

As I told them, it is really great to come back to the masteral school as way back then I was forced to get a business management course for me to relate my I.T. knowhow – to be more effective on what I am doing.

Harnessing latest technology nowadays is a must specifically if your course is in trend like computer science or information technology. You have to keep yourself  abreast on what is happening outside.

As I share this nice-to-know stuffs to the students, I even show them a video on how tech will eventually affects our daily lives as we experience it day by day.

But what would be the preparation of the students if this will affect their lives everyday?

Here are some of the tips that I shared with them:

• Manage information, do reseach and think logically.  Gathering, collating, filling, storing, processing and analyzing loads of data could be a part of the job description.  Knowing what information to give to whom is also important.
• You don’t necessarily have to be trained in computer engineering or to be a technical person although it helps.  People interested in these jobs should know basic computer applications.
• Develop equal aptitude in technical and verbal skills

It does pay to invest in one’s education and self-development.  There will always be a need for Computer Science or Information Technology graduates for office requirement.  But in the final analysis, the right track to go with the trend can still be found in knowing what you want and following your heart’s desire.
