Isaw Atbp Tusok-Tusok at Calamba
Our Sunday afternoon is always devoted to going to mass at St. John Baptist Church, grocery and buying errands which we do at the famous “Crossing” known as the heart yet the busiest place of Calamba.
What intrigued our family was the long yet crowded place in between SM and Waltermart that made us curious when we crossed between these two malls.
The place was one straight full of small stalls selling street foods like “isaw”, “hotdog”, “fish balls”, “toknene” or “kwek-kwek”, “kikiam”, “barbeque”, “adidas”, “dugo”, “squid balls” and more “tusok-tusok” delicacies.
“Tusok-tusok” is a pinoy slang use to small stalls or kiosk selling food using sticks.
There were really many of them but what caught our attention was Aling Tess Barbeque.
The tusok-tusok delicacies were such a come on to the Pinoy because of price affordability. Imagine one stick will only cost P 5.00 each and would range up to P 15.00.
What made Aling Tess Barbeque unique to all stalls I supposed was the liver sauce and sidings of sliced cucumber or “pipino” beside the traditional vinegar sauce that is served when eating a barbeque.

Yes, I let my kids tried it. Am I a bad mother?
We have oriented our kids to eat in a fancy yet first class restos and hotels but that did not stop us also to train them to be with the people or “pang-masa” places.
We advise them also to eat in moderation. This is part of “pinoy” taste after all. Let them enjoy it once in a while.
A reminder we gave to our kids and to those who would like to try to be “always alert” in this sooo very busy yet crowded place like these and warned them about pick pocketers around.
Anyway, let me know your food experience about the place.
